Germs

The bread experiment

In Year 3, we have been investigating which methods for cleaning our hands are most effective.

Some people thought that using soap and warm water was best while others thoguht that using hand sanitiser was more effective.  A small group of Year 3 children thought that using both methods would kill the most germs.

Let's see what we found out

The bread that had the most mould growing on it was the one where we was our hands.  We did a great job of washing our hands but we forgot to dry them properly so the moisture on the bread got warm and the germs spread rapidly.

Conclusion

Wash and dry your hands throughly!
